The IPS project is rooted in two disciplines in which the UdeS has distinguished itself internationally. In fact, pharmacology and chemistry were the focus of the IPS scientific project in 1997. Today, the IPS brings together 40 researchers from 10 departments and 3 faculties. Over the years, the IPS has developed a resolutely interdisciplinary research philosophy. As a result, numerous collaborations for the development of drugs and diagnostic agents have been initiated. In addition, IPS supports researchers in creating value and developing their links with the private sector. These efforts reflect the interdisciplinary approach that enables fundamental discoveries to be translated into products that benefit patients.
IRIC offers a research model that is unique in the country: the complementary expertise of 29 researchers combined with a research commercialization team. IRIC also relies on 10 technology platforms and a Drug Discovery Unit. These platforms are supported by the largest team of medicinal chemists and academic biologists in the country. Actively involved in the fight against cancer, IRIC makes the most of basic research discoveries to bring them to patients. To achieve this, the Institute can count on the expertise of the IRICoR research maturation cluster. This cluster is on the lookout for the most promising scientific breakthroughs in the development of innovative drugs and treatments.
Founded in 1993, Mila is an artificial intelligence research institute. Today, the Institute brings together nearly 900 researchers specializing in the field of machine learning. Mila's mission is to be a global hub of scientific advances inspiring innovation and the growth of AI. The Mila ecosystem relies on a community of researchers, professors, scientists, students and partner companies. This ecosystem constitutes an artificial intelligence (AI) hub in Montreal, which evolves to the rhythm of numerous events and scientific exchanges.
The Centre de recherche du CHUS (CRCHUS) benefits from a unique ecosystem in Quebec. Its proximity to the hospital and the IPS make it a unique interdisciplinary facility. Thanks to the research and development expertise in its areas of expertise, CRCHUS stands out internationally. CRCHUS researchers have been combining their expertise since 1980. Our successes reflect the passion of a community dedicated to fundamental, clinical, epidemiological and evaluative research.
The vision of the Sainte-Justine UHC Research Center is to make Quebec a place where the health of mothers, children and adolescents is among the best in the world. With this in mind, the Centre is actively involved in advancing knowledge and putting discoveries into practice for patients. The CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center brings together a team of over 1,200 people. In all, over 210 researchers and more than 450 graduate students work in a wide range of fields.
The Institut national de la recherche scientifique (INRS) is made up of the Armand-Frappier Santé Biotechnologie, Eau Terre Environnement, Énergie Matériaux Télécommunications and Urbanisation Culture Société research and training centers. INRS is proud to have been in first place for almost a decade in terms of research intensity. Obviously, this position is made possible by the expertise of its scientific community. Today, INRS continues to innovate, with over 1,500 publications in international collaboration and projects carried out in partnership.
